Puisque les temps actuels sont durs , je vous invite à remonter le temps et a nous réasseoir dans le bac à sable de notre enfance , les doigts sales en train de faire rouler nos petites voitures en imitant le bruit du moteur avec la bouche .
Je sais qu'il y a une réelle passion toujours vivace entretenue par Ebay et l'échange ou la vente de ces autres voitures de collection .La Suède ne déroge pas à la règle et avait ses fabricants de petites voitures principalement en plastique tel que Galanite . Des Saab moulées en plastique plus ou moins mou, soulignant dans leurs formes à priori grossières, les lignes des années 60/70 .

Prenons de la hauteur : Saab J-29 - Video

Le SAAB J 29 Tunnan (Baril) est le premier avion de chasse suédois à réaction conçu par Saab, juste après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il est caractérisé par un gros fuselage rond, une entrée d'air nasale et des ailes en flèches. Malgré son air de barrique (d'où son nom), le J 29 était un avion très manœuvrable, équivalent au F-86 Sabre américain en performances. Plus de 600 exemplaires du Tunnan ont été construits, dont 30 exportés vers l'Autriche. Mis en service en 1952 il en fut retiré en 1976.

Sexy Saab (edito)

La 9-4 x n’est évidemment pas la Saab la plus sexy de l’histoire mais elle sera à n’en plus douter une des Saab les plus rare depuis le début de la production en 1947, imaginez, 500 exemplaires seulement auront été produit au total !

Il est difficile de penser que GM ne va pas rentabiliser ce modèle produit dans une de ses propres usines au Mexique en le rebadgant Chevrolet, Buick, Opel ou Vauxhall selon les marchés !

La 9-5 NG Estate, un vrai break de charme, sera quant à lui encore bien plus rare, puisque jamais réellement produit (les quelques exemplaires produits devait être démolis aux dernières nouvelles).

La production de ce dernier étant prévue dans l’usine Saab de Trollhättan,(contrairement à la 9-4x produite directement dans une usine GM) son avenir est beaucoup plus incertain, pour ne pas dire trouble, et ceci même sous un autre badge !

L’histoire du « break » chez Saab est décidément particulière, cette version étant restée à l’état de prototype sur la 99 et la 900.

Et l’avenir de Saab me direz-vous ?....Que dire ! Volvo est propriété à 100% d’une firme Chinoise et se porte plutôt bien en produisant toujours en Suède des modèles de plus en plus attractifs. Comment ne pas penser à MG aussi, qui après de tumultueuses années et maintenant reparti en produisant un nouveau modèle aux Royaume-Unis sous une dynamique direction Chinoise…tout est donc possible, mais cela doit se jouer rapidement (dans les six mois à venir) car une fois l’usine de Trollhättan démantelée ou reconditionnée pour produire des toilettes publiques comme l’évoquait un jour notre confrère de saabunited… il sera alors trop tard !

Il y a quelques mois était évoqué la venue prochaine de Saab en championnat du monde des rallyes WRC et ceci en collaboration avec Bmw/Mini/Prodrive et bien sûr avec le soutien de Vladimir Antonov qui devait être le grand sauveur et qui était aussi à la tête de la société de production qui assurai la promotion du championnat WRC…Mais !! Notre ami Russe a été rattrapé par les ennuis judiciaire et financier, et s’il n’est bien sûr plus question de Saab en WRC ? C’est aussi l’avenir de la promotion et de laproduction tv de ce championnat qui est menacé, tout comme celui du programmeMini Prodrive WRC !

Vous l’aurez compris l’année 2012 ne s’annonce pas sous les meilleurs auspices pour beaucoup de monde, d’un point de vue personnel je ne pense pas que cela sera une grande année pour moi non plus, mais cela n’intéresse que moi, je ne vais donc pas m’étendre…

Le 90é salon de l’auto de Bruxelles a été une vraie réussite malgré la morosité économique et la suppression des primes eco-bonus en Belgique (les eco-malus EUX ne sont malheureusement PAS supprimé ! – particulièrement en région Wallonne !!)  Vous pouvez retrouver les images du salon de Bruxelles sur le blog autosport pictures où vous devriez également visualiser les images des legend boucles de Spa 2012 dans 15 jours où j’officierai en photographe et non en « pilote » cette année…

Il y a bien entendu quelques grandes dates à retenir pour 2012…

Let me introduce you Anne Springer , a fantastic Saab girl who defends her favorite brand with passion & love .

I had noticed on Facebook how enthusiast she can be and proud of Saab . And when she has decided last week to do something for Saab , I can say that she gave the impulse indirectly to us in France for organizing a gathering to support VM . So I wanted to know more about her and she has been kind enough to answer to my few questions .

-So Anne please , who are you ? 

        I am 30 years old (will be 31 on the 15th, a big day for Saab!)
        I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota
        I run my own online bookselling business called Teblhasa Books, I've been in business 1.5 years

-What's your story with Saab ? And why do you love them so much ?

        Jan '08. I started out as a die-hard Toyota fan, until I drove my boyfriend's '03 Saab 9-5. I had to trade in my Toyota for a Saab! I bought a '03 9-3 because she spoke to me. Her name was Karin. She was an absolute troublemaker from day one. I ended up selling her 6 months later to a great guy that still loves her today (and she behaves perfectly for him!). I ended up buying a Subaru wagon because I needed the space to carry house supplies (bad, bad mistake!).

'Nov '09. A little over a year later, I needed to get into a cheaper car. I did the research. What kind of car could you get for under $4000 that would look and drive great, look expensive, would age well, easy to work on (or at least inexpensive to repair) and could do over 300k easily? That answer was easy: Saab! I found a beautiful 1993 Saab 9000 CSE. I loved it and I bought it on the spot. It was the only car I've ever been caught speeding in too! That turbo... wow! He had a slight "diesel" sound to the engine and he was a bit cantankerous at times. He was given the name "Grumpy". I ended up having to end the relationship with Grumpy after a random transmission hose popped off while driving in April '10. I was able to limp him off the highway into a parking lot, then had to wait over an hour in the rain for help to arrive. I realized then he needed more work than I had time to put into him. He sold within a few hours of the ad being up, to a couple that had a 900 convertible. They drove him down the street and said, sold!

May '10. I got into a '99 9-3 named Tadeusz (Tad), who was previously named Ted by a couple of his previous owners. What a beautiful car! Sleek black lines, yum. I joked it was the most un-photogenic car, because was an absolute mirror imagine and I saw more of the reflection than car in the photos. Unfortunately my business was growing fast at the time and I needed a truck to haul heavy boxes of books (although I did many trips with Tad). I sold Tad for a very lucky young lady whose father pretty much bought it on the spot, grinning ear to ear, for her first car. As sad as I was to see Tad go, I could see the love in that family's eyes, he would be taken care of.

I didn't own one from Sep '10-Feb '11, and those were the roughest months for me! I was part of the MN Saab Club but couldn't bring myself to attend many meetings because I wanted to cry! (true story) I tried an SUV and then a wagon, and neither worked out very well. I only bought the wagon because there were no good Saabs for sale at the time. Sigh.

I got my '99 Saab 9-5 in February '11. My friend offered it to me, and without a second thought, I said I'd buy it, sight unseen. It needed a new starter and was located almost an hour away from me. We were able to work things out. I absolutely do NOT regret that decision. I am so in love with this car, the joke is if it would fit down the hallway of my house I'd let it sleep in my bedroom. :-) His name is Griffen, after of course the Saab Griffin. He is the most comfortable car I've ever ridden in, and so much fun to drive. I find myself taking the curviest roads in town, just because he is designed for them. I also love to play Abba with the biggest, dumbest grin on my face. He truly is like an old friend to me, and I hope we have many more happy years together.

And why I love Saab? Its because first, the people of Saab are just amazing. The workers are so dedicated and caring, the CEO is the most brilliant businessman in the world, and the Saab owners are the best people around. I have never belonged anywhere before, and I have finally found my place. These cars are not only the safest in the world, but they have very comfortable seating, excellent features (heated seats and like the 9000's rear window defoggers), very tough suspension (it handles the abuse of carrying heavy book boxes well!), and you can fit just as much into this car as you could a station wagon without having to sacrifice the sporty sedan look. And I love their looks, especially the old tear drop shape. Every car has a personality of its own, and (most) these cars have names. Everything is just so exciting when you're driving a Saab, even on the worst day you can still have a smile on your face. I never felt like that when I owned my Toyotas, a Subaru, a VW and a Mazda. No, its always been Saab for me, and it always will be.

-Do you consider your Saab as a boy or as a girl ?

       The Saab I own now is definitely a boy. I've owned 3 boy Saabs and only 1 girl Saab. They tell me what they are!

-What are the qualities of your Saab ?

        Griffen is very fun. He looks like he's always smiling, and he loves to be driven! He can get a little cranky sometimes and won't let me out of the car (once both the seatbelt wouldn't unbuckle and the door wouldn't open at the same time!). Absolutely the most comfortable car I've ever driven, I have a lot of room to stretch out and even more to fill! To this day, my best is 35 boxes of books (some large, some small) and the suspension barely sank (each box was at least 20 pounds). I also fit tons of stuff in moving, I think the neighbors were watching in amazement, all the stuff I kept pulling out!

        -Do you like others brands ?

    I used to be a Toyota fan, but they just do not make me feel safe with their loose steering and poor cornering. I love BMW as a dream car but in reality Saabs are much more practical. And that's it, I've always been anti-GM!

    - You say that you hate GM but all your Saab are from GM's era ...

Ha ha!
Good question! I guess when I fall in love with the model/car, I don't think first how much GM heritage it has. I just make sure its a quirky Swede. :-) I also have had no luck finding pre-GMs everytime I'm in the market to buy. They are getting harder and harder to find, at least where I live!

What Saab model would you like to own excepted yours ?

    I want a 9-3 sport-combi! They look super cool! And probably a newer 9-5. Oh, and another 9000. And an old 900 just because they look cool. But the 9-4x would be great for my business! Yes, I will have a Saab Farm one day...

- What is your feeling about Saab's future ?

    Saab can do it! I believe with Victor Muller and all of us behind him to support, we can conquer the world! Saab has had problems in the past, not necessarily of their own fault, but moving forward they are on solid ground. They have a great portfolio of cars, innovative technology, and they keep winning new fans each day. It comes down to someone looking at them seriously and giving them a chance. Together we can make it happen. Long live Saab!

Saab has never been an ordinary car company. Most obviously in that it wasn't founded to be a car company at all. It was an airplane maker that opened its doors in 1937 and, about a decade later, went into the car business. Saabs were built around that unique engineering heritage.

And now Saab is just about dead, again. Just like Pontiac, Plymouth and American Motors, Saab will probably be put out of its misery very soon.

But Saab wasn't always miserable. The Swedish company had its highlights. From the day the first 92 two-door ran off the company's Trollhättan assembly line in 1949 until General Motors purchased controlling interest in 1990, Saabs were epically quirky. Wonderfully so. And it's by those standards that each individual model's relative greatness can be judged. After all, this is the company that put the ignition key between the front seats, and insisted on keeping it there for over 50 years.

Choosing the best five Saabs of all time wasn't exactly easy, but it wasn't like choosing the five best Ferraris either.

One thing's for sure, if Saab does go down, it will be missed. 

- Saab's first car, the 1950 model 92, was different in almost every way, from its suicide doors to its two-stroke engine

- With the 1978 debut of the 99 Turbo, suddenly Saabs were alternatives to the BMW 3 Series. Saab's commitment to turbocharging never waned.
- Erik "On the Roof" Carlsson puts the 1963 GT850 through a dusty section of a rally. Carlsson was the master of keeping the two-stroke engine revving through insane circumstances
-Built to race, Saab only built six Sonett I roadsters between 1955 and 1957. But it was a car that hinted at what the small company could do given some resources
- This is Saab at its peak: the 1991 900 Turbo Convertible APG with 175 horsepower. It's the best-looking topless Swede this side of Malin Akerman. 
 

Saab n'a jamais été une compagnie de voiture ordinaire. C'est d'autant plus évident  qu'elle n'a pas été fondée pour être une compagnie de voiture du tout. Saab était un fabricant d'avions qui a ouvert ses portes en 1937 et, environ une décennie plus tard, entra dans le secteur automobile. SAAB a maintenant 100000 fans sur Facebook

Trollhättan, Sweden: Saab today celebrated an online milestone, with 100,000 fans choosing to join the brand's Facebook page.

"This is a wonderful milestone for Saab. We have always had a significant online presence for a company of our size, with much of it being fan-driven. To reach over 100,000 fans on Facebook is further testimony as to how much our fans like to associate themselves with our company," said Knut Simonsson, Vice President Brand & Marketing at Saab Automobile.

Saab's Facebook page started as a fan-driven initiative.  When Facebook opened its services to brands, a web-savvy Saab fan named Kroum Vassilev in Toronto, Canada, started a Saab Cars page.  With occasional updates and simple organic growth, the page attracted over 13,000 fans on its own.  Mr Vassilev contacted Saab Automobile AB in Sweden and offered to transfer the page to their ownership in October 2009.

Since then, the page has continued to grow, with fans from all over the world now getting updates from Saab and sharing their Saab photos and stories online.

“Our oldest Facebook friend is every bit as important as the most recent one,” said Simonsson.  “The Saab fans are very active. They are always busy, uploading and sharing images, telling stories, and even assisting one another with advice when necessary.”

To celebrate this historic occasion, Saab fans from all over the world contributed over 1,200 photos through various social channels, which have been used to build a selection of mosaic images. These mosaics, featuring both historic and new Saab vehicles, are available for download by fans at the Saab Cars Official Flickr account.

Some fast Facebook facts:

• The top 5 locations for Saab fans on Facebook are: Sweden, United States, Italy, United Kingdom and Finland.
• The typical fan is male, and between 25 and 34 years of age.
• 76% of fans are male, 21% of fans are female, and we are still trying to identify the remaining 3%.
• The single busiest day for new “Likes” was on the 23rd February 2011, with 7,384 fans joining the Saab Cars Facebook community that day.
• A normal day sees a net increase of approximately 80 new fans

Our friends Amy & Simon have celebrated their wedding in a lovely way .Indeed they didn't forget to invite Simon's Saab 95 to the party . And like you can see on the pictures below , the sweet Saab 95 did the job marvellously . Beautiful smiles and an unforgettable day for everyone .

All our wishes of happiness to both of you without forgetting your cutie little Saab 95 Orange !
